The following statement is from Senator Mark DeSaulnier:
BART does not just ensure that nearly 200,000 riders get from point A to point B every day—BART plays a key role in the Bay Area economy,” Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord) said.
“I am urging BART workers and management get back to the table to resume negotiations as soon as possible. When a strike of this magnitude occurs everyone loses—the commuters, the rank and file workers, and management. BART is too important for Bay Area commuters and the continued economic recovery of our region to be shut down for an extended period of time.”
