As we first reported (with video & pictures), a house fire on Blue Oak Lane in Clayton caused major damage to a home on Saturday afternoon.
We now have an update on how much damage was caused by this blaze that started as a car fire in the garage.
ConFIRE is telling Claycord.com that the fire caused $200,000 in damage to the house.
A total of 28 firefighters from seven engines, one ladder truck, three Battalion Chiefs, and a Safety Officer were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes of their arrival. Since there is only one fire station located in Clayton, additional fire crews responded from Concord, Walnut Creek and the CalFire station on Marsh Creek Road. During fire operations two cats were located and returned to the residents, according to ConFIRE.
No injuries were reported.
