MORGAN FIRE UPDATE:
You should expect to see dozens of emergency vehicles and pieces of firefighting equipment going in and out of Clayton for at least the next few days, according to Clayton Police Chief Chris Thorsen.
Chief Thorsen says this morning, several pieces of fire equipment rolled through Clayton, and apparently this caused concern for some residents. This morning’s activity was part of a crew replacement, the oncoming personnel go up the hill, and the crews who worked the previous shift then come down.
This was normal activity, and the movement of fire personnel and equipment through Clayton will continue for the next couple days.
Even though there isn’t a lot of smoke in the area of Morgan Territory, the fire is still burning, and there are several “hot spots”.
The fire is about 3,500 acres and is 45% contained.
