A 70-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on Monday morning in Walnut Creek, a police lieutenant confirmed.

The crash was reported at 10:47 a.m. at the intersection of Pringle Avenue and North California Boulevard, Walnut Creek police Lt. Lanny Edwards said.

The victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a Chevy Camaro, Edwards said.

Walnut Creek police Lt. Steve Gorski said the man was seriously injured, but he is expected to survive his injuries.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, Edwards said.

The northbound lanes of North California Boulevard were closed between Ygnacio Valley Road and Pringle Avenue until around 2:30 p.m., Edwards said.
