An arsonist struck a home off Clayton Road in Concord on Saturday morning, and according to the victim, the person who lit the fire on the front porch of the home took the time to make sure he or she burned as much as possible.
Here’s the note from the anonymous Claycordian….
I just wanted to ask your readers to please be aware of any unusual activity surrounding their homes and neighborhoods.
On Saturday morning, we were the victims of Arson. My Boyfriend woke up,thought he heard a bump, noticed a “light” on and thought I had left a light on all night, when if fact our front porch was up in flames!
Thank God he woke up and managed to get the flames out before our home burnt to the ground with us in it! The Arson Investigator told us that if we had not woken up when we did,the flames would have gotten into our kitchen within 5-10 minutes! I had two small boxes on my patio couch that were for my kids to pick up, the culprit actually took the time to place my patio table on top of the boxes and patio couch before he/she lit it all.
Due to an ongoing Arson Investigation, I am unable to send you the pictures of the damage or tell you were we are, but please warn everyone to be careful and if anybody thinks they see anything odd…call the police…coz we just never know, and life is way to short.
So sorry to hear about this arson fire. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Hopefully this person is caught before he or she is able to strike again.
Always be aware, Claycordians!
