As we first told you, Fire Station #11 in Downtown Clayton, which is the City of Clayton’s only fire station, is on the list of possible station closures due to the failure of Measure Q, the Contra Costa Fire Protection District’s proposed parcel tax.
Put all budget problems and pension discussions aside, and answer this question.
Do you think it’s fair (or safe) to close a fire station that serves over 10,000 residents when the next closest fire station is about four miles away, and not even in the same city?
